Recipient of the Grand Prix of Canadian Music Competition, second prize at the Orchestre Symphonique de Trois-Rivières, finalist at the Maria Callas Grand prize, at the Concours international de Marmande (French melody) and the Concorso per cantante lirici Alcamo, Ariane quickly establishing herself among the young singers of her generation.

Recently hired by the Société d’art Lyrique du Royaume, the Opéra de Rimouski, the Société Lyrique de Picardie, the Théâtre des faux plis, the Festival Montréal en Lumières, the Trilliart music festival of Cornwall, the Pro Musica music society and the Grand chœur de Montréal, her schedule for 2015-16 includes Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Vivaldi’s cantata "Cessate, ô maì cessate", Verdi's Requiem, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, the Liebeslieder-Waltzer and opus 91 by Brahms, Karl Jenkins’s Stabat Mater and a Brahms-R.Strauss-Wagner recital at the Claude Léveillée Hall of the Place des Arts with pianist Louise-Andrée Baril.

Born in Chambord-Lac St-Jean, the mezzo-soprano was trained in voice performance at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University in Montreal. In addition to her lyric career, Ariane has a private teaching studio in Montreal, she holds the classical singing class at the Atelier de musique de Jonquière and she will be a visiting professor at the Camp musical du Saguenay Lac St-Jean during the vocal arts week in the summer of 2016.

Over the last fifteen years, Ariane Girard has sought to understand and demystify the vocal tract to find ways to liberate the voice, both in speech and song. Ariane has experimented with several methods taught by renowned professors, read numerous treatises, and discussed the topic with various specialists. She has also studied the vocal technique of singers from all eras, genres and styles.

Thanks to her passion, dedication, and experience, Ariane has developed a unique vocal technique based on four main pillars: breathing, support, freeing the tongue and vocal projection. She teaches this technique using a simple language, coupled with easy and individualized exercises. This technique is intended for singers of all levels and actors seeking to improve their vocal projection. It can also be useful to professionals who make an extensive use of their voices, such as hosts, teachers, lawyers or customer service representatives.
